5 out of 5 stars Fine and dandy   September 4, 2010

I looked around a lot before buying these - others seemed overpriced or to get mixed reviews, even from major brands. These buds are a bargain at around $20. They fit comfortably and the sound is more than I would expect from pea-sized speakers. I did "break them in," as the manufacturing suggests, but keeping them at ¾ volume for about 8 hrs. I they stop working after a few months as one or two other buyers have complained, I will post an update.

4 out of 5 stars Good sound for affordable earphones   August 30, 2010

After approx. month usage of GMS-104 with my I-Pod, I am impressed with sound quality. There are 3 earbud sizes included. Good. I'm concerned @ how deep-set they go into ears. Yes, the earbuds tend not to fall out when exercising. I question the health aspect: earwax compression (mentioned in another review).

5 out of 5 stars I'm impressed   May 21, 2010

I've only had these for a week, so I can't attest to their long-term durability.

They sound very good right out of the box...I have not yet played them at 3/4 volume for 8hrs for the 'burn in' period as recommended. I intend to do that soon, but they already sound great, so I'm in no hurry. They block out sound well, but don't completely eliminate sound. While it is faint, I can hear traffic if I'm running next to a road (which is a good thing)...for me, it allows just enough ambient sound in. I could probably eliminate more sound if I used the larger buds that came in the package.

I can't believe how well they stay in place! I went trail running ~6 miles on hilly terrain with intervals of speed. I ran a mile to a nearby track, jumped a fence, ran a 5k on the track to calibrate my nike+, jumped the fence again, and ran a mile home. I never took the buds out of my ears, nor did I have to adjust them. They stayed in my ear without budging despite the fence jumping, etc. I also did a 6 mile road run through subdivisions and across a major road. I checked over my shoulder a number of times before crossing streets. Again, even the pull created by turning my head a good amount did not budge them...a movement that would always pop out the standard buds that came with my ipod.

And, I've had no discomfort. I love running with these!

5 out of 5 stars Great ear buds for the price!   April 28, 2010

I've had these ear buds for a couple months now and they sound fantastic! They are comfortable to wear and I really can't say anything bad about them for the price. I'm happy I didn't drop $100+ on some Bose ear buds. I broke my pair of ear buds that came with my iPod and coming from those I noticed these Sound Squared buds have increased bass. I guess my only problem is that I didn't like the large amount of bass these put out, but that was easily fixed by just reducing the bass on my iPod's equalizer and the equalizer built into iTunes. Now they sound perfect and I'm extremely satisfied.

3 out of 5 stars Big Bass??? Sound is very Muddy to my ears.   February 6, 2010

I purchased a set of these for jogging. They fit well and do not fall out; however, the sound is very muddy and muffled. I have tried changing tips, changing placement... all to no avail. I'm disappointed and hope to find another type that has decent bass but much clearer sound.
